The Detour was a choice between Lucky Rearrange or Skilful Rearrange. In Lucky Rearrange, racers had to rearrange 4 different letters into as many combinations until they can get the 1 out of 3 correct possible combinations that allowed them to receive the next clue. In Skilful Rearrange, racers had to rearrange the missing letters of the sentence given in alphabetical order. In the Roadblock, racers had to calculate the total cost of 3 groups of visitors to Château de Chillon.

In the Roadblock, racers had to identify the 3 out of 8 given places that the race had not featured on the race route of Switzerland. The Detour was a choice between Convert or Random. In Convert, racers had to use the "A=1, B=2, C=3...Y=25, Z=26" code and sum up the eventual result of the word "Bahnhofstrasse" that has been split into 4 terms. In Random, racers had to guess a number between 5800 to 5900. Only one will work.

Leg 3 (Switzerland → United States)

The Detour was a choice between Fill in the Blank or Identify the Picture. In Fill in the Blank, racers had to fill in the blanks given with the correct letters, with only the first letter, last letter and an additional information as hints. In Identify the Picture, racers had to identify the exact location of the partial image given. In the Roadblock, racers had to identify the correct management team person of Sears Towers, and rearrange that person's name in anti-alphabetical order.

Leg 4 (United States → Japan)

In the Roadblock, racers had to give the name of the state found in USA that they will be flying to next. The Detour was a choice between Attraction or Shop. In Attraction, racers had to search the entire theme park and find an attraction that fits the given description. In Shop, racers had to randomly name one shop found in the entire theme park. Only one will work.

Leg 5 (Japan → People's Republic of China → Singapore)

The Detour was a choice between Word or Picture. In Word, racers had to find the one out of many words that can fit the given description. Only one will work. In Picture, racers had to search the whole stadium for a specific picture. In the Roadblock, racers did a memory challenge involving the entire race. Racers were faced with a board with spaces numbered 1-10, each corresponding to a city visited during the race. They were required to remove the covers from the spaces two at a time, in numerical order, to reveal the symbol of a Roadblock, Detour, Route Info, or Pit Stop, then search through a reference board of 21 pictures – each of which depicting a location from the Race – for a picture depicting that specific location from that leg (for example, Board 1 revealed the Route Info symbol for Kuala Lumpur, so racers had to look for a picture depicting the Suria KLCC). They were then required to insert the picture into the space on the board, where a green tick will appear on the space indicated that the picture was the correct one. Once all 10 spaces were correctly filled in, racers would be able to retrieve their next clue.
